Vegas is for Vegans

08/31/2010

This past weekend, a group of friends and I went to Vegas.  I just wanted to tell you about one place we ate dinner and how amazingly they dealt with the “vegan situation.”

We ate at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris in Vegas.  I was concerned at first about finding vegan options but when I got there I just told the waitress – who turned out to be super awesome.  She recommended the vegetable platter.  They usually saute the stuff on it with butter, but she said that for vegans they obviously do it in olive oil.  It was a cherry tomato salad, corn chutney, grilled Japanese eggplant, various beans, mini Brussels sprouts, and a bunch of different varieties of cooked, seasoned cauliflower/brocoflower.  It was so simple and so delicious, and it was a ton of food!  Also, for an appetizer, I had these sauteed green olives (in olive oil) with garlic and rosemary.  They were absolutely amazing.
